Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 4
v 2
Poulton Royal FC ..... A
cracking start to the season for Cape,
against a decent Poulton side. And to
be fair, it took a MoM performance
from Cape keeper Paul Williams
to keep the visitors at bay. Cape were
largely on top but our goalie had to
be on top form, as goals from Capes, Lewis
Cooper, Louis Phelan, James
MacKinnon,
and Dom Hoppe, proved just
enough, to help us to a 4-2 win. But a
tough game nevertheless, as Cape led
1-0 at half time, but an avalanche of
goals came in the second half, and
made a final score of 4-2 to Cape,
just enough to secure the 3 points.

Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 0 v 8
Sutton Ath FC ..... A real
bad day at the office tonight for the
stiffs. As we were mullered good and
proper in the second half. Strangely,
after competing for the first 40
minutes at 0-0, Sutton scored their
first goal on 41 mins, to take a half
time 1-0 lead. And it was all down
hill in the second half, as the Sutt
rolled in 7 more goals without reply.
Not a great deal more to say really,
as the visitors were miles better than
us. Charlie Thomas was one
player who played close to his normal
game, and took the Cape MoM
tonight.
Newton FC
2 v 0 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... An unlucky
loss really this one, as Cape had
plenty of the play, in a second half we
more or less controlled. Newton
started the game far the better team though,
going in front on just 7 mins 1-0, and
it took us a good half an hour to get to
grips with them. But once we did, it
was all Cape. We always looked like we
would salvage something from the game,
that was until an unfortunate OG on 85
mins put us 2-0 down, with not enough
time left for a comeback. Bad Luck
boys. Danny Page took the Cape
MoM with a solid showing.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 0
v 2 Mossley Hill
Ath ..... Cape drew
another blank in front of goal but
still another half decent showing,
against title hopefuls Mossley Hill.
They pushed South Liverpool all the
way last season, eventually finishing in
3rd spot, just 5 points adrift. So a tough encounter was
expected. Cape were miles the better
side in the first half, with plenty of
good attacking play but no killer
punch, and it was 0-0 at half time. It looked like
whoever could score first would take
the points, and unfortunately we
didn't show up in the second period,
as the
visitors managed to get their noses in
front just 5 mins in, 0-1. They
wrapped up the points on 85 mins with
a header, finishing 2-0 winners. Jamie
Easton was Capes stand
out man, and Cape MoM on the day.Neston
Nomads
FC 1
v 3 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ....A
solid performance from Cape reserves
today. We were a bit slow to start off
with, and conceding the first goal in
23rd minute didn’t help 0-1, but
this kick started the team, and they
showed great character taking control
of the game, and levelling on the half
hour, with a poachers goal from Matty
Hickman.
1-1
half time.
Second
half Cape controlled the game
completely, going ahead on 60 mins
with a solo effort again from Matty
Hickman,
breaking the off side trap 2-1. Cape
then sealed the win with their 3rd, in
the 73rd minute with Steve
Hickson
finishing off a well worked goal from
the right.
Cape
MOM today was Tom
Challinor
who never stopped working for the team
from center midfield.

Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 2
v 3 Chester
Nomads FC Res ..... A poor
result for Cape but the wisdom of the
leagues fixtures has to take some
blame and be questioned, as most of
our lads looked leggy tonight, and
definitely not on top form, after
playing their fourth game in 9 days.
Why ?? I dont know...Cape went 0-1
down on 6 mins but replied immediately
on 11 mins, through James Sheridan
1-1. We fell behind again on 40 mins
1-2 and half time. James Sheridan
netted his and Capes 2nd on 67 mins,
2-2. It looked to be going our way,
then Nomads broke away and bagged a
winner on 75 mins. We just didn't look like
we had anything left in the tank, and
Nomads took the 3 points, 3-2. Mom James
Sheridan
Vauxhall
Motors FC Res
3 v
4 Capenhurst
Villa FC .....
Well what a great game this was.Capenhurst
made a good start, having most of the
early play, and deservedly went in
front on the half hour through Luke
Jones,1-0. Unfortunately we
switched off, and the homesters
levelled just 4 mins later 1-1. Half
time. Cape carried on in the same vane
in the second half, and Steve
Rowlands put Cape back in front on
51 mins 2-1. But we did exactly the
same as before. Switched off, and
Vauxhalls equalised 3 mins later, 2-2.
We then went in front again on 65 mins
via a Ellis Williams penalty,
3-2. And yes, you guessed it, once
again 4
mins later it’s 3-3. This one looked
to be miles offside though. The
Linesman nodded off i think. It was
a heck of a game for the neutrals, and
on 75 mins, Cape took the lead again
for the fourth time, as defender Dom
Hoppe, restored Capes lead, 4-3.
We managed the game better this time,
and it
stayed 4-3, and we happily came away
with all three points. Phew !!... Well
in boys. Lewis Cooper took the
Cape MoM tonight, he kept Capes
midfield ticking over nicely.

Marshalls
FC 1
v 3 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... A creditable
three points but this was a struggle
at times, as we never really recreated
our midweek performance at Vauxhalls. Phil
Quillam put Cape in front on 13
mins, after a neat flick on from Ryan
Nicol 1-0. But just as we had done in
midweek, we switched off, and
Marshalls levelled just 3 mins later
1-1. The game swung from end to end,
and on 77 mins, Phil Quillam repaid Ryan
Nicol with a neat flick-on, and
Ryan finished with a tidy lob over the
oncoming keeper 2-1. And it was Ryan
Nicol again, who put the game
firmly in Capes hands, when Phil
Quillam nicked the ball of a Marshalls
defender, and slotted through for Ryan
to side foot home 3-1. Three points in
the bag. Well in boys. Cape MoM was
youngster Rowan Whelan, who was
outstanding today, in the centre of our
defence.

Chester
Nomads FC 0
v 2 Capenhurst
Villa ..... Capes third
win on the spin, courtesy of a Ryan
Nicol double. The game was fairly even
and hard fought throughout. But after
a goalless first half, Cape were
looking the most likely side to score,
and Ryan Nicol put Cape 1-0 to
the good on 65 mins. And on 78 mins
Dale Higham jinked past three
defenders, and found Ryan Nicol
unmarked to make it 2-0, and game
over. Another good win, and another
welcome three points. Well in boys..
Cape MoM tonight was double goalscorer,
Ryan Nicol. Capenhurst
Villa Res 1
v 1 Runcorn
Sports FC ..... This was a
decent result, especially after coming
from a goal down to top of the table,
and presently unbeaten Runcorn Sports.
The visitors more or less controlled
affairs in the first half, and took
the lead on 13 min 0-1. We never had a
shot on target until early in the
second half, and from thereon we were
probably the better side. Louis
Phelan levelled affairs on 83 mins,
and a well deserved equaliser it was,
1-1. A decent point for Cape and a
good second half showing. Cape
goalscorer Louis Phelan also
took the Cape MoM tonight.

Groves
Athletic FC 2
v 4 Capenhurst
Villa Res ..... A
well fought local derby this one, as
the sides shared 6 goals. Cape took
the lead just 1 minute in, through Liam
Sparks 1-0. But Groves levelled
after 8 mins 1-1. The game was end to
end, and Capes Matty Hickman
put Cape back in front right on Half
time, 2-1. The second half looked to
be edging in Capes favour, as Dom
Hoppe put us 3-1 ahead on 64 mins.
But the battling Groves side netted
again on 71
mins, to reduce the arrears 3-2. It was
a nervy few minutes for Cape, until Ellis
Williams scored on 81 mins to
restore the two goal cushion 4-2,
Final score. The lively Liam Sparks
took the Cape Mom.

Rainhill
Town FC 0
v 3 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Cape made it 4
wins on the bounce, after a great
result today at Rainhill Town. Apart
from a slack 15 mins in the second
half, Cape were well in control
throughout. And top Cape marksman Ryan
Nicol bagged his usual goal, along
with a Jay Easton strike, and a
worldy Volley from Phil Quillam,
to complete the rout 3-0. Luke
Jones took the MoM vote with a
solid display today.
Capenhurst
Villa Res 2
v 1 Mersey Harps
FC ..... Another fine result
for the stiffs, even after going a
goal down after just 5 minutes 0-1.
Livewire Matty Hickman levelled
in the 11th minute, with a neatly
taken goal, 1-1. We fought back well
to get a foothold in the game, as the
visitors had pressed us hard for most
of the half. Half time 1-1. And it was
Matty Hickman who netted again
for Cape just 5 mins into the second
half 2-1, this time direct from a free
kick. We were now much the better
side, and 2-1 was enough to take three
more welcome points. The steady Rowan
Whelan took the Cape MoM today,
with another decent showing.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 3 v 3 (5-4
on pens) Neston Nomads FC ..... Cape
scraped through to the next round of
the Wirral Senior cup, with a 5-4
penalties victory. We were a little
bit off our game today, and to be
fair, Neston played well, and proved a
tough nut to crack. 1-0 down on 10
mins. Ryan Nicol headed home on
22mins, to get us back on level terms,
1-1. The visitors took the lead again
on 35 mins with a superb free kick 1-2
half time. Kev Fields then
smashed in a great volley on 57 mins
2-2. And on 73 mins, Jamie Easton
gave us a 3-2 lead, and a likely
winner. But we switched off, and
Neston replied on 81 mins 3-3. Full
Time, and on to penalties it was, and
Neston missed their first spot kick,
with Cape scoring every penalty, to go
through 5-4. Whew !!
Bootle
FC Res 5 v
3 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res .....
This was definitely a game of two
halves, as Cape put the league leaders
to the sword in a brilliant first
half. Only to come unstuck in the
second period. The In-form Matty
Hickman put Cape 1-0 up on 21 mins,
and we were enjoying a great spell,
when we were awarded a penalty on 39
mins, which John Britton
dispatched 2-0, We missed a couple of
decent chances too, and it could have
been a lot worse for the home side,
half time 2-0. The table toppers came
out a different side in the second
half, and within 20 mins we were 4-2
down. A goal apiece was added before
the final whistle, to make a final
score line of 5-3. A great first half
from Cape followed by a better second
half from Bootle. But no disgrace for
Cape, with a decent showing
tonight. Dom Hoppe took
the Cape MoM.

Villa FC 3 v 1
Marshalls FC ..... Another
fine win, and a repeat of the
scoreline, in our away fixture at
Marshalls in August. Cape beat the
visitors 3-1 away, and today won 3-1
at home. Ryan Nicol bagged a
double back in August, but went one
better today, bagging a superb
Hat-trick. I think they'll be glad to
see the back of him, he was also MoM
of course.
Ellesmere
Port Town FC Res 2
v 2 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res..... Well a
couple of points went begging here, as
Cape bossed most of the game. We took
a 2-0 lead at half time with Matty
Hickman and John Britton
getting a goal apiece. It looked like
plain sailing, and had we come off 4-0
up Port couldn't have complained. But
the Port picked up their game in the
second half and capitalised on some
sloppy play, levelling the game 2-2.
It has to be said that the Port keeper
had an absolute storming game, and was
the difference between the two sides
specially in the first half. Rowan
Whelan took the Cape MoM, with
another good game.

Prescot
Cables FC Res 0
v 3 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Cape climb to
the dizzy heights of 2nd place in the
league, after putting lowly Prescot
Cables Res to the sword. A late
kick off, due to a missing referee,
didn't seem to bother Cape, and Jamie
Easton scored with a scorching
free kick on 12 mins, 1-0. It was
pretty even after that, and stayed 1-0
at half time. Cape came out pumped up
in the 2nd period, and our leading
scorer Ryan Nicol bagged
another on 68 mins to make it 2-0.
With the points now in the bag, Chris
Forshaw added a third late on, to
make it a comfortable 3-0, and Cape up
to second in the league. Ben
O'Connor took the Cape MoM with a
superb performance. Well in Boys

Villa FC Res 5 v 1 Shaftesbury
Youth Club Res ..... Well welcome
to the Matty Hickman show, as he
blitzed Shaftes with a four goal haul
in this Wirral Amateur Cup tie. But to
be fair, It took a Shaftes goal on 10
mins to wake us up, after a very slow
start 0-1. Matty Hickman
levelled on 23 mins 1-1, Half time.
The second half saw Cape press home
their superiority, and a 20yd screamer
from Matty Hickman on 66 mins
put us 2-1 up. And on 76 mins Matty
Hickman netted again, to complete
his hat-trick, this time from from the
penalty spot, 3-1. That looked like
game over, and it was, as James
Mackinnon added a fourth on 80
mins. But Matty Hickman hadn't
finished, and he scored his fourth, on
86 mins to make it 5-1, and a
comfortable win.

Chester Nomads FC 4
v 2 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Cape
bowed out of this years Cheshire
amateur cup with a below par display.
First half we looked ok, taking the
lead as early as the 2nd minute
through Jamie Easton 1-0.
Nomads levelled on 20 mins 1-1. And
with Cape still on top, we regained
the lead on 27 mins 2-1. But the
homeside replied again on the half
hour, with a goal that looked (was)
yards offside? 2-2, half time. In the
second half Cape were nowhere near as
good as the first, and Nomads scored
just 3 mins in, 3-2. And from thereon
we just didn't seem to have that
spark. We pushed forward trying to
find an equaliser, but Nomads broke
away, and wrapped up the win on 88
mins with a 4th goal 4-2.
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 3
v 0 West Kirby FC Res
..... The Ressies climbed to 5th
place, after a comfortable win against
the seasiders West Kirby. Rowan
Whelan opened the scoring for Cape
on 29 mins 1-0. And John Britton
increased the lead right on half time,
2-0. Top Scorer Matty Hickman
put the game to bed on 76 mins, 3-0.
And another fine victory. Young
defender Nathan Lightfoot
deservedly took the plaudits and the
Cape MoM, with a flawless display.

been. But a 92nd minute goal, via a 20
yard strike in the dying seconds from Kev
Fields, secured the 3 points,
after we had spurned several earlier
chances to take the lead. Not at our
best today but nevertheless, three
points and another good win. Dom

Cammell Laird FC 1

Villa FC ..... Sometimes in
life you don't get what you deserve.
And this was definitely one of those
nights. In this Wirral Senior cup tie,
against step 6 side Cammell Laird 1907
FC, from NWCL Division One South. Cape
were the better side throughout.
Always troubling the Lairds goal, and
our defence looked absolutely
watertight. Cape keeper Andy
Millington needed to make one save in
the first half. half time 0-0. The
second half we were even better,
hitting the woodwork 5 times in total.
But couldn't find that elusive goal or
that bit of luck. Down to ten men on
75 mins, Lairds broke away and scored
on 82 mins 0-1. Cape were
shell-shocked, but the lads went back
on the attack, striking the bar once
again, and another effort headed off
the line. It just wasn't our night. We
left the field with heads held high, after
what was a great cup tie, and
fantastic showing from our boys. A
defeat we never deserved. Bad Luck
lads !!

Capenhurst
Villa FC 7 v 2
Prescot Cables FC Res ..... A
comfortable win in the end, but to be
fair, the scoreline read 2-1 at half
time, and the game was pretty even.
Cape though, came out and had a great
second half, and the game turned into
a nine goal thriller. Steve
Rowlands bagging a hat-trick,
while also taking the Cape MoM. Mike
Simmons claiming a double, and Dom
Hoppe and Ryan Nicol taking
a goal apiece, in a creditable 7-2
victory. Well in boys.
Sutton
Ath FC 4 v 1
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... A
loss, and maybe Sutton were just about
deserved winners, but this was never a
4-1 game, as our Ressies lost to the
unbeaten league leaders. Cape gave a
decent account of themselves today.
2-0 down at half time, Liam Sparks
made it 2-1 on 50 mins, and for a
period in the second half, we
had the home sides defence worried,
and looked like reversing the 2-1
scoreline, making several good
chances. It wasn't to be though, and
Sutton were awarded a penalty on 84
mins, 3-1. We then gifted them a goal
with a defensive mix up, on 86 mins
4-1, and that was game over. Charlie
Thomas took the Cape MoM with
another great performance.

Hill away, has always been a tough

were maybe worthy of the win on the
day, but if you'd have said you'll get
a point before kick off, we'd probably
have taken it. A solitary strike from
the in-form Dom Hoppe, was
enough for a welcome point. Therefore
keeping up some pressure on the clubs

at the office for Cape, as we came
away empty handed from the short trip
to Heswall. The home side were worthy
winners on the day. We never got up to
speed, and didn't really work their
goalkeeper at all. Our keeper, along
with a decent Cape rearguard action,
and some poor finishing from Heswall,
kept the score down to just 1-0,
because Cape really weren't at the
races today, and it could have been
much worse. A lively performance from
the returning Liam Fitzpatrick
earned him the Cape MoM. Heads up lads

Villa FC 2
v 2 FC
Bootle St Edmunds ..... Well
this was a great game for the neutral,
as both teams gave their all. Cape
were missing some regulars, so had a
few players called up from 2nd team
duty, and they gave more than a great
account of themselves. Rowan
Whelan was one of those who stepped up to
the mark, scoring our first goal, and
claiming the Cape MoM with a sterling
performance.
After
Cape going behind twice, Rowan
levelled to make it 1-1. And at 2-1 down,
defender Kirk MacMurray levelled
in the dying minutes, to gain us a
deserved point 2-2. Good effort lads...
Poulton
Royal 3
v 1 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... Unfortunately,
with some lads drafted into 1st team
duty, the team was a little bit
jiggled about. We went 2-0 down, but a
well taken Ben Marray goal
lifted our game. A superb 25yd lob
over the keeper 1-2. We then
mysteriously had, what looked like a
good goal from a corner, disallowed,
which could have made the difference.
Because just moments later Poulton
struck their 3rd via a dubious penalty
1-3. A hard working effort though all
the same, and Liam Sparks took
the Cape MoM, with tireless work
throughout the 90 minutes.

Maghull FC ..... The visiting

Cape rarely hit the levels we've been

goal down after 18 minutes 0-1, and
were not playing too badly to be 0-1
at half time. In the second half John
Britton levelled for cape on 65
mins 1-1. Only for Maghull to go 2-1
up from the penalty spot, 1-2 on 70
mins. Steve Rowlands got Cape
back into the game on 77 mins 2-2, but
this proved to be a false dawn.
Maghull claimed another penalty on 82
mins, 2-3. And then hit us on the
counter attack on 86 mins, 2-4 and
final score. Dom Hoppe claimed
the Cape MoM once again today, with
another decent performance. Heads up,

Rowlands all in the first half,
sent cape through 4-0. The second half

half goals proved to be more than

Mersey
Royal FC 2 v 2 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Despite
the wind and rain this was a decent
watch, as Cape took a deserved point at high
flying, title hopefuls, Mersey Royal.
And with a little more luck, it could have
been better. The game was end to end
throughout, with the home side taking a
2-0 first half lead, scoring on 22 and
31 minutes. Half time 0-2. But Cape
came out after the break a different
side. Our keeper hardly had a shot to
save in the 2nd half, and the Royal
keeper was much the busier. Ryan
Nicol made it 2-1 on 54 mins, and
in form Steve Rowlands
levelled on 67 mins, 2-2. Cape were well on top
now, and Mike Simmons rattled the post
with the Royal keeper well beaten on
79 mins. We had Ryan Nicol sent off on
80 mins, for two bookings, but we hung
on, to claim a more than deserved
point. Despite his sending off, Ryan Nicol took
the deserved Cape MoM, with a manful
performance, leading the line for
Cape.
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 5

Villa FC res
..... Well welcome to the Matty
Hickman show, as the Ressies were
right back to form today, putting
visitors, Aintree Villa severely to
the sword. A welcome clean sheet, and
a superb 5 goal tally for Cape,
secured another three points.
Last seasons Capenhurst leading scorer
John (Nuggsy) Britton netted a
great goal, but Matty Hickman
stole the show, with a 4 goal haul, to
secure a 5-0 win. This was, in fact, a
great team performance today, and five
or six players stood out, but the Cape
Mom was without doubt..... Four goal Matty
Hickman.

save from Cape keeper Andy Millington,
a Jamie
Easton goal, allied to a neat
double from new signing Richie

went a goal down early on 0-1, and
despite Charlie Thomas
levelling just before half time 1-1,
we never really affected their goal.
We fell adrift in the second half, as

good game, end to end throughout, and not a bad performance
from Cape, but we were unluckily
undone by an own goal in the dying
minutes. The home side did rattle the
woodwork with a decent effort minutes
earlier, but Cape had plenty of
chances of their own, which,
unfortunately we didn't convert. A
draw would have been a fair result,
but it wasnt to be. Centre back Kirk

an outstanding performance.
Capenhurst

points. A confidence boosting win for

4-3 on Penalties, after a 2-2 full
time deadlock, Steve Hickson

Ashville

Cape made an early exit, at table
toppers Ashville. We weren't really at
the races first half, as Ashville took
an early 1-0 lead from the penalty
spot. It was different though in the
second half, as Cape were much the
better side, but were unable to claw
back that solitary goal, and the home
side went through 1-0. One of Capes
stand out players this term Dom
Hoppe took his 5th MoM of the

Villa FC 1 v 3 Rainhill
Town FC ..... A bad day at
the office for our first team today.
We started slowly, and Rainhill took a
12 min lead 1-0. They had
opportunities to stretch their lead
but Cape keeper Andy Millington was in
top form, keeping them at bay. 20
minutes into the game we started to
play, and on 23 mins Richie McQuade
made it 1-1, with a great goal. We
went from back to front, five passes,
and Richie smashed it home 1-1. We
bossed the rest of the first half but
at half time it stayed 1-1. I'm afraid
that was it really, as we never showed
up second half, and had Cape keeper
Andy Millington not been on top of his
game, it could have been a lot worse.
As the visitors scored on 73 mins 1-2,
and 89 mins 1-3. Final score 1-3. Cape
MoM, keeper Andy Millington.
Aintree
Villa FC Res 0
v 1 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... This was a
superb, confidence boosting win, as
Cape took all three points at Aintree
Villa. It was a hard fought win, as
the home side pressed and pressed
after we had taken
a 22 min lead 1-0. Similar to our
first team today, we had our keeper to
thank, as Paul Williams in sticks, had
an outstanding day. Unfortunately for

performance.

saw from end to end, in an
entertaining game, with both sides

Cape took a 1-0 first half lead
through Ian Armstrong, 1-0 and
half time. But the visiting Hooton
Vets were lucky to have 11 men on the
pitch, as their keeper blatantly
handled the ball outside the area.
Which would normally carry a Red card.
But not today ??? Hooton picked up in
the second half, but it was errors
from Cape, and not Hootons good
play, which helped the visitors go 4-1
up. Phil Jones scored a late

The second half went pretty much the

3-1. South netted on 64 mins to make
it 3-2 but Matty Vickers
completed, what was the perfect
hat-trick, left foot, right foot, and
a header 4-2. South pulled another
goal back to make it 4-3 on 83 mins, but

mins. 1-1 on 23 mins, a fine strike
from Phil Quillam. After 39
mins we were 3-1 down, and scored
right on half time through Matty
Vickers with a fine volley. 3-2
half time. Heswall took a 4-2 lead on
59 mins but Matty Vickers
netted his 5th goal in two games on 65

the local derby, and this was a needed
confidence booster, being our first
win since January. A Danny Page
Hat-trick, and goals from Dom Hoppe,
Steve Rowlands and Jamie
Easton, saw us safely home. A
great team performance on the day, and
even despite a Danny Page Hat-trick, Tom
Challinor took the Cape MoM with a
superb showing.
Capenhurst
Villa Res 1 v
2 South Liverpool FC 3rds .....
South Liverpool 3rds turned the tables
on us today, after our fine win away
to them, three weeks ago. The visitors
took a 34 min lead, with a goal that
looked yards offside 0-1. But we were
partly masters of our own downfall,
gifting them a second goal with a
defensive mix up on 72 mins, to put us
2-0 down. Phil Quillam bagged a
well taken goal just a minute later to
make it 2-1, but we couldn't muster
another goal, but nevertheless, not a
bad performance. Goalkeeper Charles
Avery took the Cape MoM with a
faultless game.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 1 v 1
Newton FC ..... Well
this could have been a typical end of
season affair, but it was far from it.
As both teams played decent football,
and both teams went for the win. Cape
started off well, and had much the
better of the first half, with the
visiting keeper having a blinder, to
keep it 0-0 at half time. Newton
picked up their game in the second
half, and took a 71st minute lead 0-1.
But Capes Jamie Easton levelled
on 80 mins, with a superb strike 1-1.
And that's how it remained. A fair
result i'd say, as neither team
deserved to lose, in what was a really
good game to watch. Kirk MacMurray
took the Cape MoM with a really solid
game.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 0 v 2
Mersey Royal FC ..... A
goal in each half was enough for title
chasing Mersey Royal to win at a
canter. After a decent showing on
Saturday Cape were well below par, and
never really threatened the visitors
goal. Hopefully we see an improvement
next Saturday at top of the table
Ashville. Cape MoM on the night was James
Davies.

Ashville
FC 2
v 0 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Well
we've played the 1st and 2nd placed
teams in the table within the last
three days, and lost by the same
margin in both games. But not
disgraced in either game. Top of the
table Ashville scored on 37 mins, but
this was against the run of play, as
Cape were marginally just the better
side, 0-1 half time. Not in the second
half though, as Ashville picked up
their game, scoring a 2nd goal on 75
mins, to seal a 2-0 win. Defender Mike
Bebb was Capes stand out player,
and MoM today.

Villa Res 1
v 2 Groves FC ..... The
successful, Ex Cape first team manager,
Eddie Rigby, brought his new
Groves FC side to Cape, and left with
a smile, and 3 points to boot. A
decent game, and a pretty even affair throughout, but the
Groves finishing just had the edge. A goal in each half gave them a 2-0
lead, and a late consolation from Dave
Wright-Elliott, gave a final
scoreline of 1-2. The lively Richie
McQuade took the Cape MoM.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 2 v
1 Chester Nomads FC ..... A
satisfactory result in our penultimate
game of the season. A decent,
watchable game, with Cape playing some
nice football. Capes Ellis Williams
was the in form man this evening.
Chipping in with both Capenhurst goals
in a deserved 2-1 win. Along with a
Man of the Match performance.

Villa Vets 1 v
4 Hooton FC Vets ..... Cape
Vets unfortunately lost out in the
Wirral Junior Cup Final for the second
year running. Despite the scoreline we
were never outplayed, but on the day,
mistakes were our downfall. Cape
bossed the game for the majority of
the first half hour, and Cape MoM on
the day, Steve Hickson gave us
a deserved lead on 28 mins 1-0, but we
switched off, and Hooton immediately
replied on the half hour 1-1. We still
failed to re-group, and within 4 mins,
we found ourselves 2-1 down, Half time
1-2. Hooton gained the upper hand in
the second half, and as Cape tried to
push forward, they punished us further
for some defensive errors, to leave a
4-1 scoreline, that really looks worse
than it was. Heads up lads.

West
Kirby Res 2
v 2
Capenhurst
Villa Res ..... How on
earth we never took all three points
here today i dont know ? After
a goalless first half, Cape took a 51
min lead through Cape MoM on the day Charlie
Thomas 1-0. We were well on top,
and Ben Marray added a well
taken goal to make it 2-0 on 70 mins.
We were coasting at this point, and
peppered the home goal, with chance
after chance, but we couldn't convert.
Then the unbelievable happened, and West
Kirby who'd barely had a shot all
game, rattled in two goals in the last
8 minutes to level 2-2.

Heswall
FC Res 0
v 2
Capenhurst
Villa Res ..... A great
win, and no slip-ups this time, after
Saturdays draw, which actually felt
like a defeat. After another goalless
first half, Nathan Lightfoot
put Cape 1-0 up on 54 mins. And Richie
McQuade made it 2-0 on 79 mins.
Surely we couldn't let this lead slip.
And this time we never, as we held out
for the win, to secure three welcome
points. Well in lads !! Cape MoM on
the night was Nathan Lightfoot.

Villa FC 1
v 0 Ellesmere
Port Town FC ..... Cape
signed off this season with a great
win in this local Derby. It was 0-0 at
half time, with Cape doing all the
pressing in the first 45 mins, and our
keeper was virtually redundant. The
winner came on 61 mins, a fine strike
from Ryan Nicol, whipped in
from the edge of the box, 1-0. The
Port did pick their game up, and
tested the Cape keeper on a couple of
occasions, and hitting the post with
just 5 mins left. The lads held firm
though, steady eddie Dom Hoppe
took the Cape Mom. and the win saw us
climb to 5th place in the table. So on
the whole not a bad season. Well done
lads, and all of the management team.

Villa FC Res 2
v 2 Neston
Nomads FC ..... A great game this,
as both teams went for a win.
Definitely not a typical end of season
game, and Neston started quickly,
taking an early lead from a defensive
error after just 4 mins, 0-1. The
visitors were much the better side but
couldn't capitalise further, 0-1 half
time. The second half saw 3 goals in
five minutes, as Dom Hoppe
headed home to level on 55 mins 1-1.
But Neston replied immediately on 57
mins, 1-2. Cape re-grouped, and
launched another attack, and Rowan
Whelan popped up to head home on
the hour 2-2. That's how it stayed in
an entertaining game with the points
shared. A fair result i'd say. Dom
Hoppe took the Cape MoM once
again.

Chester
Nomads FC Res 2
v 4 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... Another
good game this one, as Cape finished
off their season with a fine win. We travelled
to the Garrison ground and returned with
all 3 points. Sam Cooper
started the scoring after just 3 mins,
cutting in from the left and scoring
with a nice strike, 1-0. Nomads
replied immediately on 5 mins 1-1. The
home side finished the first half
strongly, scoring on 33 mins and went
in at half time 2-1 up. Cape looked
stronger in the second half, and John
Britton levelled on 58 mins 2-2.
Cape then had 2 men mysteriously sent
off, and Nomads looked to kill the tie
off, but Cape, with nine men, rattled
in 2 goals from John Britton
and Matty Vickers, to win the
game against the odds. Well done boys.
Two goal John Britton took the
Cape MoM today.

Villa FC
Vets 5 v 2 Parkfield Rangaers
FC Vets ..... Cape Vets
claimed their first trophy, the 'Tom
Gerraghty' Cup, after the
disappointment in the Wirral Junior
final. We started well, and Luke
Eccles rifled home on 28 mins 1-0.
But 3 mins later, a defensive mix up
saw Parkfield FC level 1-1, then take
the lead, all in the space of 4 mins,
1-2. We gathered ourselves, and in the
second half we were much the better
side. A brace from Carl Ngiam,
allied to a second goal for Luke
Eccles, and a Mark Higham
effort, saw the lads safely over the
line, and bring home their first
trophy. Hopefully kick starting a
successful time to come. Well done
lads !!
