FC
Kirkby 5 v
3 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... Well
this looked like a tough opening
fixture, and that's exactly how it
panned out. Although these were a
decent side, we still gifted them a
couple of goals, going 4-0 down at one
stage. We battled back bravely to get
to 4-2, via two Steve Rowlands
strikes. But then gifted Kirkby
another sloppy goal, 5-2. That was
realistically game over, but making
his senior football debut, 17yr old Lewis
Chapman bagged himself a late
goal, and well done to him, to make
the final score 5-3. Danny Carter
took the Cape MoM today with a non
stop performance.

|
Capenhurst
Villa FC 1
v 1 Chester
Nomads FC ..... A game
of two halves as Cape completely
bossed the first 45 mins, taking a
first half lead on 39 mins, via a Jamie
Easton header, 1-0. After we had
mysteriously, had a goal disallowed
after 28 mins, for what, we don't
know? We never hit the dizzy heights
in the second half, as we did in the
first, and Nomads managed to rescue a point,
with a goal on 81 mins, 1-1. A point but a
disappointing end for the lads, which
felt like a loss. Brad O'Donnell
took tonights Cape MoM, with a solid
performance at centre back.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 1
v 1 Maghull FC ..... Another
point, and another decent performance
from Cape. It could easily have been
all three points again. The visitors
took a 1-0 lead on 32 mins, with their
only shot on target. Half time 0-1.
Cape pulled up their sleeves, and
played some good stuff, and deservedly
levelled through Cape MoM on the day, Nathan
Lightfoot, with a well worked
goal, 1-1. We played some great
football throughout, but that's how it
stayed. A penalty save from Cape
keeper Chris Hickling, on 76
mins, made sure it remained 1-1, and
we certainly didn't deserve to lose,
so justice was done. Good Effort today
Lads !

|
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 2
v 6 Frodsham
Park FC ..... A bad day at
the office for the ressies, as we were
undone 6-2. Cape did create plenty of
chances in the first half but the
visitors found the net as early as 7
mins to take a half time 1-0 lead. The
2nd half was not much to write home
about, as Frodsham rattled in 5 more
goals, to take a 6-0 lead. Harrison
Cooper and a Phil Strapp
goal made the
scoreline look a bit more respectable
with two late goals, 6-2. We'll dust
ourselves down and go again on
Saturday. The lively Leo Young
took the Cape MoM on the night.

|
Capenhurst
Villa FC 1
v 1 Aintree
Villa FC ..... Well another 1-1
draw, our third on the spin. And it
could, and should have been 3 wins.
Today was no different as we went 1-0
down early doors, with just 3 mins on
the clock. It was a dour first half
from Cape but we sprung to life in the
second half, and created chance after
chance, but it took Cape centre back,
and Cape MoM on the day Kirk
MacMurray to show the strikers how
to finish, with an equaliser on 81 mins
1-1. A deserved point in the end, but
it could, and should have been three.
West
Kirby Res 3 v
1 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... Cape
paid for a slow start, in this away
day to West Kirby. We were 3-0 down
within the first half hour, and
although we won the second half 1-0,
it wasn't quite enough. A 3-1 margin
at full time, but a much better second
half showing, gives us a bit of
optimism for the coming weeks, but we
can't afford any more slow starts. Cape MoM and
stand out man today was centre back Huw
Williams.

Ellesmere
Port Town FC 0 v
5 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... A
convincing win tonight with some fine
goals to boot. Steve Rowlands
put us 1-0 up on 14 mins, and a fine
header from a corner from Matty
Vickers made it 2-0 on 23 mins.
Jamie Easton added a third with a well
taken strike on 38 mins, half time
3-0. The second half still saw a
dominant Cape, and goals from Brad
O'Donnell, and another from Steve
Rowlands wrapped up a deserved 5-0
win. Cape MoM on the night Matty
Vickers.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 0
v 1 Mossley
Hill Athletic FC ..... This was a
fantastic game, and a great advert for
West Cheshire football. With two
committed teams, and an end to end
contest. Unfortunately for Cape the
visitors, top of the table and
unbeaten Mossley Hill, netted in the
81st minute to take the three points,
but Cape gave a great account of
themselves, and had we potted any one
of our many chances, it could easily
have been three points for us. No
complaints though, as it could easily
had gone either way. Well done to
Mossley Hill. Sam Toy took the
Cape MoM, after a centre back
masterclass.

2nd September
|
Capenhurst
Villa FC 2
v 2 Marshalls FC .....
Another draw and to be fair, not our
best performance. We took an early
lead on 5 mins, via a superb volley
from Cape MoM on the day, Steve
Rowlands 1-0. But the visitors
replied on 11 mins, 1-1. Then again on
33 mins, to take a 2-1 half time lead.
We levelled through a Jamie Easton
header on 55 mins, 2-2. And Marshalls
then had two men sent of within 5 mins.
But even after being reduced to 9 men
with 25 mins left, they defended
stoutly, and Cape couldn't break them
down to find that third goal, so 2-2
it stayed.
Heswall FC
Res 0 v
3 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... A
fine and well deserved first win of
the season for our Ressies. Cape took
a first half lead, with a well taken Sam
Cooper goal, 1-0. Cape continued
on the front foot in the second
period, and Gabe Kwateng struck
twice, to make it a safe 3 points, and
3-0 to Cape. A clean sheet also
remained intact, as Cape keeper Dave Ashcroft
saved a last minute penalty, 3-0 final
score. Harley
Morris was our stand out man, and
Cape MoM today after a cool and
composed game. Also a mention goes to
new signing Jack Hill, who had a fine
debut.

Capenhurst
Villa FC 4
v 0 Dukinfeild
Town FC ..... A great win and
through to round two of the
prestigious Cheshire Amateur Cup. Cape
were more than worthy winners today,
and scored some cracking goals to
boot. In-Form leading scorer Steve
Rowlands bagged a hat-trick, along
with the Cape MoM, in a superb
personal performance. Jamie Easton
added a fourth goal, as we sailed into
the next round. Good Effort lads !
Runcorn
Sports FC 3 v
1 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... A
decent game from Cape, and it was
never a 3-1 margin. We just need a bit
more luck in front of goal, as we are
creating chances by the dozen. Gabe
Kwateng carried on his good form,
scoring our goal, and claiming the
Cape MoM, through sheer, tireless
endeavour. But after a brave effort,
we came away with nothing, 3-1 losers.
Heads up lads, and onto next
week.

Sat 16th September
|
Rainhill
Town FC 5 v
1 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... A bad day at
the office im afraid, as Cape were
well beaten at Rainhill. The home side
took a 2-0 lead after 18 mins, added a
3rd on 32 mins 3-0 but Phil Quillam
bagged just after that 3-1, as Cape
looked like getting back into the
game. Half time 3-1. Unfortunately we
never carried the last 20 mins into
the second half and Rainhill added 2
more goals to cruise home 5-1 winners.
In form Steve Rowlands was
again our stand out man and Cape MoM.
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 3
v 2 Ellesmere
Port Town Res ..... A great win
for the ressies, in an entertaining
local derby game. A game in which the
lead see-sawed between both teams.
Cape took the lead with a Gabe
Kwateng strike on 16 mins 1-0. It
stayed 1-0 up until the 56th minute,
when the visitors rattled in 2 goals
in the space of 3 mins 1-2. They were
now on top, but some indiscipline saw
them have a man sent off and a man
sent to the sin bin. Cape took
advantage, and livewire Gabe
Kwateng scored two goals in as
many minutes, to claim a great win,
and the Cape MoM to boot. Nevertheless
a great team effort today, Well done
boys.

Litherland
Remyca Res 2 v
2 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Yet another
draw, after the trek over to
Litherland. Tom Challinor
registered, alongside regular Cape
goal getter, Steve Rowlands.
Unfortunately the home side replied
with two goals of their own, to
register a 2-2 draw. A shame we're not
turning these draws into wins, because
otherwise we'd be right up there at
the top of the table. Heads up lads.
The in-form Nathan Lightfoot
took the Cape MoM, with another 8/10
performance.
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 2
v 3 Cammell
Laird Res ..... A great
performance today and it could easily
had been a win, or at the least a
draw. But it wasn't to be, and we came
away empty handed after a 3-2 loss.
But it was a great effort from the
lads, against a very strong Lairds
team. Both teams contributed to what
was an entertaining game. Matty
Hickman scored a great goal, from
a well worked free kick. But goal of
the game definitely went to evergreen Rob
MacDowell, who also took the Cape
MoM, with a fine performance.

Hattersley FC ..... A bad day

reached anything like our best, and
went tumbling out of the Cheshire Am
Cup. Hattersley showed more than us on
the day, and we got what we
deserved...Nothing.
Frodsham

Villa FC Res ..... In contrast to
the 1st team, our ressies had a great
day. Finishing up with a 6-1 away win.
After taking a 3-1 half time lead, we
pressed home our superiority and
finshed up with a fine three points.
Goals from Matty Vickers 2. Jack Hill,
Matty Hickman, Lewis Chapman, and a
goal from Cape MoM on the day, with a
fine Captains performance, Terry
Watts, secured a fine win.

Maghull FC 2 v
0 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Cape travelled
to top of the table Maghull in what
looked like a big ask. But the real
Cape turned up this week, and were
unlucky not to come away with
something. We more than held our own
today, in what was a massive
improvement from last week. 0-0 at
half time, we were unluckily undone
with 2 late Maghull goals in the last
20 mins. After competing well
throughout the game, it could easily
have been at least a point on our
travels, but it wasn't to be.
Nevertheless, a big improvement. Stand
out man for us today, Ashley Wardle
deservedly took the Cape mom.

Mersey
Royal FC
3 v 2 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... Cape started
well today but Mersey Royal finished
the stronger, to take the 3 points.
Cape went 1-0 upon 29 mins, with a
fine Nathan Lightfoot goal on
30 mins, 1-0. Cape were mostly in
control for the remainder of the first
half, 1-0 half time. Mersey Royal
raised their game in the second
period, and rallied with three goals
in a 20 minute spell, to go 3-1 up
after 75 minutes. Cape did manage a
late Steve Rowlands strike,
3-2, with probably our only effort on
the Royal goal in the second half. And
3-2 it finished. Mom Nathan
Lightfoot.
Capenhurst
Villa FC Res 2 v
0 Sutton Rangers FC ..... A
fine win, and an encouraging
performance, as cape win through to
the Wirral Amateur Cup Semi Final. A
fixture for the lads to look forward
to in the New Year, as a Matty
Hickman penalty made it 1-0, and a
further goal in the first half, 2-0,
proved to be enough to send us
through. Well Done lads.

and Brad O'donnell drew us
level 10 minutes into the 2nd half,
1-1. But we fell behind once more,
2-1, and finished the game with 9 men,
which obviously didn't aid us getting
back into the game. So 2-1 it stayed. Nathan
Lightfoot took the cape Mom, once
again Capes stand out man.

Nomads FC Res 5 v 0 Capenhurst
Villa FC Res ..... A bad day
at the office today, as we succumbed
to a 5-0 defeat. Things weren't
looking too bad, in a quite even first
half. We went 1-0 down after 28 mins,
but were well in the game. The second
half proved a different matter though,
as we had a man sent off, and the home
side took full advantage. Rattling in
four goals to make it a 5-0 finishing
scoreline. Heads up lads ! Cape Mom

after extra time. 1-0 down on 8 mins John
Britton Levelled 1-1, and we then went
2-1 down but Steve Rowlands
levelled for cape just before the
break, 2-2 HT. The game
see-sawed from end to end finishing up
4-4 at full time with goals from Steve
Rowlands and Josh McEwan.
Newton scored a killer goal in extra
time to knock us out, bad luck boys.
Keeper Chris Hickling took a
deserved Cape MoM which included an
impressive penalty
save. Final score 4-5.

Res ..... A cracking performance
by the Ressies. A reversal from the
5-0 defeat by the Nomads just 2 weeks

welcome points, after a fine 4-0 win. A
Matty Scott double, a Harley
morris strike, and a 4th goal from
Cape Mom on the day, Joe Whittle,
secured a great win and top
performance today, with some slick
passing throughout. Well in lads.

Hill FC 11 v 0 Capenhurst
Villa FC ..... A dour day for Cape
as we fielded a severely weakened team
due to injuries, and just plain,
missing personnel. This was a hard
enough game against title chasers
Mossley Hill, even with our first
eleven playing. So with a patched up
team it was doubly tough. The lads who
stepped up did their level best. It
was a tough day for some of the
younger lads who came in. Hopefully it
doesn't put them off. MoM was keeper Chris
Hickling who saved another spot
kick, and despite the scoreline made a
bagful of good saves. Heads up lads !!

more respectable than it was. A Steve
Rowlands double, along with a goal
each from Nathan Lightfoot and Kev
Fields proved enough, giving Cape
a deserved 4-1 lead on 76 mins.
Vauxhall scored two late goals in the

the day, livewire Harley Morris,
1-0. We continued to push the visitors
back, making chance after chance but
were unable to add to the lead, 1-0
half time. In the second period Groves
stepped up their game, and for large
parts were the better team, but Capes Tom
Sixsmith popped up and made it 2-0
on 68 mins, with a nice finish. The
Groves did claw a goal back on 78 mins,
2-1, to make it a nervy end to the

Capes leading marksman Steve
Rowlands gave us a 1-0 lead on 29
mins, and we should have easily added
to that lead but we stuttered in front
of goal, 1-0 half time. A Luke
Bradley header put us 2-0 up, just
7 mins into the second half. But from
thereon we seemed to take our foot off
the gas. And the visitors pulled a
goal back on 78 mins to make it a
nervy end to the game. We just about
got over the line 2-1, with Nathan
Lightfoot claiming another
deserved Cape MoM. Well Done Lads !!

managed to pull a goal back after 31
mins, half time 2-1. We started the
second half well, and Phil Quillam
smashed home from 20 yds 3-1, and Matty
Scott scored a carbon copy of that
goal, with a screamer of his own on 88
mins, final score a deserved 4-1. Josh
McEwan took the cape Mom today,
rarely putting a pass astray.
Heswall

second half out
without too much fuss, and Matty
Hickman added a 3rd for Cape on 85 mins, to
secure a fine 3-0 win. Well done lads!

different result. Capenhursts two
goals, came via Nathan Lightfoot

back on 32 mins 1-1, Half time. A Jamie
Easton penalty on 71 mins gave us
a 2-1 lead, and a Terry Watts
goal on 75 mins made it 3-1, and
looked to have secured a fine win. But
Bootle weren't finished, and replied
with two quickfire goals on 82 and 85
mins, to level the game at 3-3. It now
looked like it would be a share of the
points, until Capes Matty Vickers
tapped home the winner on 92 mins 4-3.

odd goal in five. A proper five goal

Cape were 2-0 down by the 36th minute
but Steve Rowlands gave Cape a
crumb of hope on 44mins 2-1, half time.
Unfortunately the second half saw very
few goal efforts, with neither keeper

two goal lead, Harrison Cooper
headed home on 7 mins 1-0. And Gabe
